In Deep Waters

Just as the rivers and waters flow, you were created in sync with the rhythm of that flow; subsequently, just like the waves, we will experience moments of wreckage and winds throughout our lives. During those points, we can rely on the promises of God. In the midst of the instability of our distress, we know that Jesus is our rescuer. When the ups and downs become unbearable, you can take rest in Jesus. When you feel the weight of the tides dashing back and forth, you can find relief in His arms. When the tiredness that is steadily growing in the midst of your storm becomes too much, you can cry out to God to lift the load of the water that is surrounding you. The flow of the wind and waves may not be changed or shortened in that very moment, but in those ranging sea seasons, you can choose faith in the face of the waves that are circling you.

In deep waters, He is there with you. When you feel you are drowning, you can find solace in Jesus. The deep waves may try to destroy you, but nothing is too hard for Him. Though it feels like you are alone surrounded by thousands of miles worth of water—you are covered by God. He sees the waves picking up. He sees your restless soul trying to stay afloat. He sees the many times you have called His name. Through the unpredictability of the waters, He is right in the midst with you.

During the moments when we feel like we are in too deep, can become the center of breakthrough. In the tides, you are learning to completely trust in God. Maybe in the times of almost suffocating, you are learning that it is ok to reach out for help. Maybe in the storm, you will learn how to get back up again. In your deep waters, He is there. Keep swimming. As long as you are here, you can keep pushing forward. Eventually, the waves will find their calm. The winds will settle. The chaos will end. Through the fluctuations of the waters surrounding your life, you can find comfort in God. You are never alone in the sea. When the waves become too strong, be encouraged that the God you serve is stronger than that moment of fear. In deep waters—He is always with you.

“He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” -Mark 4:39
