Positioned for Revelation

“Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” —Exodus 4:12

“Now go.” Imagine God saying those direct words to you. Instinctually, you would probably follow-up with a million questions. Now go. In this verse from Exodus, those instructions became the start of the most prolific declaration created for God’s own, Moses. Furthermore, this verse sites that the Lord would help Moses speak and give him the words to say. All that was required of Moses was his movement and faith. God responded by releasing His wisdom to Moses. Moses was given a glimpse of his steps of action as God spoke to Him from a burning bush. While revelation was appointed to him, it was not the entire picture of what was to come. What Moses probably did not initially recognize was that his revelation from God would take forty years to complete. Along the way, Moses’ positioning became the point of revelation from God. What if our lack of faith is actually disconnecting us from the progression we need to move into position to hear the voice of God? The true nature of God’s instructions to Moses was not fully revealed initially; but in turn, was revealed and released as Moses kept walking with the Lord. What is your “Now go” moment in this season? Is there something that you know God has shown you, but are hesitant to move without the full context? God uses Moses as a prime example of movement that must take place in-spite-of not knowing the result—faith that our positioning will reveal His purpose in our lives. Now go. Once Moses arrived at his many destinations, we then see how God reveals Himself to his servant. When Moses said yes to God and journeyed with Him, he was given specific instructions in conjunction with his present positioning.

Your positioning is what God uses to catapult you to your next season. Now go. Just like Moses, as we stay the course, God will release His words to you. It takes time—forty years of information and instruction was not all revealed to Moses in one moment. Why should we expect God to reveal His entire wisdom for us in one answered prayer or sign? Now go. How you are currently positioned in your life speaks volumes. Moses did not receive the instructions from God to lift his rod and stretch his hand out over the sea to divide it, until they had reached the Red Sea. This assignment was concealed until Moses was in position to activate what God commanded. Now go. The ten commandments were not revealed to Moses until he reached Mount Sinai. Once there, he was given the tablets of guidelines to make known to the Israelites. This assignment was concealed until Moses was in position to carry out the will of God for His people. Many assignments were already written for Moses; however, it took God’s timing and positioning to see the evidence of His purpose. In this season, do not be discouraged by where you may be. God is preparing you for the positioning that will reveal His glory in you. Now go. Forty years was the time span God had in mind to send forth his plan through Moses. Let us walk in patience as we find His revelation in every step, in every season, and in every detail. Now go is the instruction from the Lord. He will give you the words to say. God will put you in position.
