Miracles From a Mustard Seed

“Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be.” -Job 8:7

Looking at the big picture is a beneficial tool used to help us focus our thoughts and feelings about a problem or situation. Gazing at the whole picture can give us insight on many aspects, but can also cause us to miss the little things that are happening right in front of us. The smallest victories are some of the beautifully crafted works of the Father. The result of His clay being molded is not only seen in the big makings, but in the smallest creations as well. Do not underestimate God in the small seasons in your life. A magnifying glass is reflected within the small things in life. The carefully designed details become clearer when we give attention to it. Every empire started with small beginnings. Every giant-sized dream turned reality, started as a simple and small doing. The small can be tedious and frustrating as we are a society driven by the big idea or the big reward. However, your small does not play small. It is the foundation for cultivating and building bigger works day by day. The works that may appear small in nature, are where the biggest miracles occur.

A multitude of people followed Jesus after He performed miracles and healed the sick. In the crowd there was a boy that had five small loaves and two small fish. With this, Jesus did the impossible in that moment. He multiplied the food for the thousands to eat who had followed Him. He took the loaves, gave thanks and distributed it. After the multitude was fed, Jesus then asked His disciples to gather the leftovers so there would be no waste. This story is a great testament and insight into how your small is never wasted, but multiplied through the Holy Spirit. Not only did Jesus create more from the small, but had excess in what He had produced. Give God a chance in the little things in your life. Do not look at your small and count it as less. Jesus was not moved by the little that was present, but instead, responded to an opportunity for His Majesty to be made known throughout the land. When the Holy Spirit touches the small amount in your hands—the impossible happens. Your works will be multiplied with God.

Keep doing your part, even though it does not feel adequate. Keep showing up, even though you do not feel like it. The boy that had a small amount of food, probably never thought in a million years that it would go on to feed thousands. All it takes is one encounter with God to change the little that you have. Everything that is assigned to you is imperative. Your small is needed. You are the glue for someone to build upon. Your small action is necessary for someone to plant their seeds. Your small vision is required for someone to help you in the execution of that project. Your small is the blueprint for the premise of great things. There is so much room for God to work in the little things. The potential of the Lord is great. Every success story started as a small dream. Every big triumph started out as a small instruction. Every victory started with humble promises. Stay committed to the small things in this season. God will multiply your covering. Be encouraged by the small beginnings and happenings around you. Your territory will eventually increase. Your confidence will gain strengthening. Your assignment will become enlarged. You will be prosperous in the small that you are handling in this moment. A little can create a miracle that will have leftovers to remind you of the fruitful character of Jesus. His glory will show up in the remnants of what He will double. A mustard seed sized-faith is what Matthew 17:20 tells us to have. A mustard seed is extremely small. Jesus gives us the roadmap of the impossible that He can do with the small—trust Him with your little.
