Unraveled

When a sweater becomes unraveled it is considered unwearable. While that sweater is in the state of being unraveled, it is exposed and vulnerable. The tear is visible to the naked eye. You have to take precaution in order for the unraveled piece to not come all the way undone. As long as that sweater is still unraveled, it can be fixed. Once it is sewn back together, it is no longer in jeopardy of becoming completely undone. Maybe you are experiencing becoming unraveled by the circumstances surrounding you. Perhaps this season keeps tearing at the already existing hole that you are trying to navigate. Even if you feel completely vulnerable to the unraveling in this moment, your unraveled heart is not completely destroyed. Your unraveled mind can be restored and revived. When you feel unraveled, you are in position for God’s work to fix and heal what has fallen apart.

The unraveling is unnerving and unsettling. We try to avoid and pretend that the unraveled piece is not there. We try to bypass the torn and damaged nature of the problem. Our unraveling is never too big for God. While we are in our pain and suffering, God is putting us back together. You may be unraveling in this season, but God will never let you become completely separated from His seam. Jesus is our hem that helps us to not become completely and utterly undone and wrecked. As you encounter the uncovering and exposure through the hole and tear, the Holy Spirt will help you to understand the root and start of the unraveling so that you can experience healing and repairing. Your disappointment can be reconstructed by God’s appointed time. The overwhelmed spirit in you can be mended by God’s restoration. The worry from your situation can be renewed by God’s peace. The unraveling is temporary. Sometimes the unraveling is sent to reveal and remind you of the power of God.

It is ok to experience unraveling. So many challenges, difficulties and obstacles come our way throughout life. Just like our clothing, unraveling is bound to happen eventually. The wear and tear of life can leave us worn out and ragged. When you are faced with the unraveling—embrace it. Bring forth your pieces of pain and hurt to the presence of God. If you find yourself in a season of the unraveling, take the opportunity to unravel in the Hands of Jesus. Let Him correct, heal and mend you back together. You cannot stay in that moment of falling apart. You need the whole, mended and better version of you. That tear needs reparations before you can experience clarity from the voice of God. That hole needs patching before you can do the assignment that the Lord has given you. The unraveling is for the building of your walk with God. The unraveling allows you to rely on the fullness of God. The pieces may be torn and broken, but they represent the capacity and capability of God. The unraveling reveals the strength of God in you. There is preparation, reaping, favor, progression, revelation and abundance in the unraveling that is taking place in you this season.

  1. This was so uplifting and thought provoking! Just had an elderly Christian woman say just today how Jeremiah 17:14 was her favorite scripture as she moves about her home. Thank God that He is faithful and merciful even in our unravelled times!
