Through the Disappointment

The disappointment hurts. You expected an answer to the questions you had been so desperately seeking from God. The shortcoming of that situation was painful. You worked so hard to only be met with a close door. The no you received was discouraging. You prayed that God would turn the circumstances around in your favor. The disappointment stung. The discontentment of your spirit constantly bleeds through your thoughts. How can you pick up the pieces to your broken heart? How do you continue with the sorrow that sits within the promises He made? The process of moving forward from that disappointment is tedious; God had the fluctuations and uncertainties of your emotions in mind. This was not a new revelation to the sight of Jesus. Through your disappointment the purpose still stands. Through your disappointment there is an everlasting comfort. While in the disappointment we are placed within His protection, timing and strength.

The diligence within the results of your work does not go unnoticed to God. Through the disappointment, He sees it. The faith you displayed despite of the news you received brought joy to Jesus. Through the disappointment, your hope became tangible in that moment. The posture of your heart in that unanswered prayer was echoed throughout heaven’s atmosphere. Through the disappointment, God heard every word spoken and unspoken from you. Give God your disappointed heart. Give Him your grief over what did not happen. Nourish your emotions and feelings through your dismay. Grace yourself through your healing. You are exactly where God desires you to be throughout your sorrow. Your disappointment is only temporary. What God has on the side of this moment is eternal. Do not quit in your disappointment.

After the disappointment, you are in position of a resurgence of His glory. After the defeat, you are prepared for the victory in Christ. You will realize that the timing of God is sooner than you think. You had to go through the valley of disappointment to experience the peak of the mountain. You had to move through the uncertainty of your surroundings to encounter the foundation of your purpose. Your alignment with His perfect will is coming to pass. You fought through the pain of your unmet expectations. You have survived the hurt of empty hopes; subsequently, you are coming across God’s timing and infinite wisdom in this season. God is never withholding any good thing from you. The delay was not intentional. His protection and perfect promises will endure in your life. Trust it—trust God. All of your desires and dreams matter so much to God. Everything will happen in its respective time and space. In the disappointment, His goodness still remains. He will never leave or forsake you. Through your greatest disappointment, you will find your greatest purpose.
