In this moment, you could probably think of several roads and interstates in your city that are undergoing simultaneous reconstruction. In order for something to be considered for reconstruction, it requires a previous construction or structure that now demands maintenance or repair. There has to be an existing assembly that needs an upgrade or replacement in order to function properly and in its original design. Essentially, there is a problem that necessitates attention. This could look like old pavement that needs to be uprooted, repainting the lines on the road, or even repatching previous holes. This is all done so that drivers can experience a smooth transition to their destination. Sometimes a reset or readjustment is mandatory to reach the fullness of what has already been laid down. In this season, the reconstruction is for your good. There are things that have left you broken that now call for mending so that you can see the wholeness of God through you. Old patterns that had you stuck in autopilot, must be restored before you go forth in your calling. Paths that have been blocked must become revived again so you can thrive in Jesus and not just merely survive. To begin to see the revelation of Jesus in your life, you must go through the reconstruction. God desires to perfect that which is concerning you.
Nehemiah was established as a cupbearer to king Artaxerxes. In the book of Nehemiah, his assignment involved the physical experience of reconstructing the walls of Jerusalem that had been previously destroyed. Physical restoration was required in order to see spiritual restitution within the land and in its people. When we see the breakdown of who repaired and helped to build, you can see just how many people it took for full recovery. In this season of reconstruction, God will send you the right people to intercede for you, the right mentors to disciple you, the right friends and family to cover you. Looking at reconstruction in the physical—it takes multiple hands and feet. Some people hung the doors while others repaired various parts of the structure—every remedy was required. The process of rebuilding is never without obstacles. The adversaries were extremely upset about the restoration of the wall that was taking place in Jerusalem. As God is reviving you, there will be hardship in the reconstruction. There will be times of oppression as you are pressing toward the new in His presence. Nehemiah faced ridicule, internal conflict, and threats as he was stepping into his assignment. The attacks were knee-jerking because of the spiritual and physical restoration that was to take place after the rebuilding of the wall within fifty-two days. In-spite-of the many challenges, Nehemiah stood in the empowerment of God to see the full establishment through its course.
The stand-still moments, the detours, the distractions, and dead ends—it is all essential for a beautiful renewal through the Father. After the noisiness of the repairs died down and after the people finished their reconstructing, the city started to thrive. The city was able to become a place of true revival, returning to the faith. Everything that was birthed in chaos, became holy ground for the glory of God. What was once torn down, was the very thing that built character and strength that led to an abundant restoration throughout the land. Revelation was happening in the physical and spiritual as the rebuilding took place. Embrace this season of change and repairing. God is creating something that you have never seen that requires uprooting and refining. It may feel like everything is falling apart and there is no steady foundation. It may feel hopeless because of what you are seeing. In this season, set your hands to this good work. God is with you every step of the way. He will redirect your path as He unveils your gifts and assignments that carry weight in the kingdom. He will reconstruct your surroundings for revelation through Himself. There is a plan for what has been destroyed and wisdom in what has been damaged. God desires for you to have the best route possible to follow Him with clarity and discernment. The restoration will reveal what God has already put inside of you. You are the centerpiece of His original plan. Wholeness through Him becomes the blueprint of your purpose.
