Made for Workmanship

Maybe you are known as a writer, teacher, student, activist, social worker, or journalist; often, we are associated by our career and personal titles throughout life. We are known and called by our works. Navigating in this can produce great things; however, God can simultaneously create space for other purposes attached to your name. When God is writing your story, there are no restrictions on how the Holy Spirit will use you. When God created you, He gave you multiple talents and gifts. You have many works to fulfill. You can have success in something that is completely opposite of what you are currently doing. Additionally, you can experience achievement in other areas through your abilities. God will shine light on the forgotten and small talents that you possess. There is purpose in the all of the things that are inside of you. You were made for multiple matters. There are no limits or boundaries that God cannot prevail over. You were not designed just for one purposeful thing. You were not designed to just have a title; there are accompanying works anchored for you. God had in mind everything that you will be connected and called to. Your works through Christ are many.

Ephesians 2:10 tells us: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” God has so many good works in store for you. There is a vacancy in the industry that is waiting for you to occupy and create change. There are rooms full of opportunities that are available in your name that will reach others. There is a future child waiting for you to instill the goodness of God into their life. If you are discouraged by that one opportunity that did not work out—do not fear. If you have felt defeated by closed doors—there is more. You are not defined by one present or past failed or unfinished work. God has already prepared each and every single good work that will come your way. God sees the writings that you prepare in your free time. God sees the outfits you design and sale to those you know. He sees the videos you post of encouragement on the side. The little things that you are working on right now will serve purpose. Do not exclude the small workings. With God, the small becomes big. You were created for workmanship. No good work or purpose will ever slip out of the Hands of God for you.

No matter what age or season of life that you are in, there are works still assigned to you. As long as you have breath, there is more that God will walk you through. You have multiple works to do with God. This season, do not count yourself out. Though you feel dormant right now, God is pruning the way for your works. As you are walking in what He has prepared, the small works that you ruled out will come back to you as part of your assignment. You were created for God’s workmanship; it is bigger than you. Your works will lead others to Christ. Your works will encourage someone who needs it. Your works matter in the Lord. You are created for good works.
