The Pursuit of Peace

Peace. What comes to mind when you think of peace? We all are chasing after a sense of stillness and peace. We desire peace throughout our circumstances and decisions in life. What if we started pursuing peace with the knowledge that it is not only situational and conditional, but also constant. God did not give you peace just for situational matters that you are facing, but a continual peace that surpasses all understanding. There is a knowing within your spirit that understands no matter what comes your way, Jesus is already there. His goodness sustains and surrounds you in every second of everyday. Circumstantial peace is not the only component of your portion in this season. God is incessantly holding your heart in His Hands. Abide in His endless and everlasting peace.

Pursuing the peace that Jesus has given you will never come back empty. His perfect peace infiltrates our soul when we choose to keep our minds on Him. Peace does not mean that we will not have problems, but it helps us to understand that His faithfulness still rests upon our lives. The things that do not work out for us, are really working for us. Peace resides in all of your positions and situations in life. Knowing that His peace is not solely retained by conditions—your failed dreams can be resuscitated and revived. With His peace at hand, you will come to know that even the shut and closed doors of life will never change His plans. In the middle of your sorrow, His peace will find and sustain you.

Instead of finding a temporary peace in our circumstances, we can look for His permanent peace that already exists within us. The next time you may find yourself wrestling with finding peace, look within your spirit. It is there—seek it out. When your soul is in torment, peace will locate you. When your heart is troubled, peace shall be your safety. Peace is also found within our joyous moments of life. In the happiest of days, His peace still stands. On the worst of days, His peace still remains. The peace that comes from the Lord is not of this world. His peace in your life will look confusing to others—in the midst of your world crumbling down contentment will fall over you. His peace will make others question how you are still standing after what you have been through. That is the peace that can only be found in the Lord; this is the peace and satisfaction we desire to always have. The pursuit of peace is found in God. The rivers of comfort and peace flow abundantly through you. His everlasting peace is with you in this season. Choose to see peace and fulfillment in every situation.
