The memories of those that we have lost hold a special place within our hearts. Grieving looks different for every person; however, during special holidays and occasions we tend to all meet grief face-to-face. As each day passes, we try to recover a sense of normalcy without them here with us. We can honor our loved ones during this time by continuing to live our lives. They are always with us. There are signs that will be shown to you from above.
Observing the memories and moments that we hold dear, can help us navigate through our grief. It hurts knowing that they are not physically here to witness and experience life with us. It can be painful, especially during moments of celebration and gathering. We can take those moments of intense grief and let our heart cry out for that person. It is ok to let yourself bask in the heavy moments. When the grief overtakes you, let it. There will be hard feelings and moments to walk through. There will also be reminders that they are with you in the middle of your grief. We are reminded of them through the eyes of so many that also carry their memory close to heart. Their spirit is with you from above.
If you are finding yourself in the midst of hard grief in this holiday season, it is ok. Continue to make memories in honor of those you have lost. You can cherish their memory with the loved ones that are surrounding you. It is ok to fill your space with tears and memories. Let the lights of the season remind you of your loved one. Let the love of family and friends be with you in your grief. We can hold tight to the promise of being with them one day. Their light is shining upon you. You may not see it, but their presence is with you. They are beside you when it feels rough. They are with you during the beautiful moments. The reminders from them will help sustain and hold you in this season. God’s love will comfort you from above.
