It Takes Time

Life has unexpected ways of showing us that time is a driving force in our everyday lives. Time is the dominating factor for many things that we have experienced in life. When we do not see the fruit of what we are producing with time, we become consumed with doubt. It feels hard when everything goes silent around you. You have been trying and trying to no avail. It feels like time is slipping from your grip. You are not at the end of the rope; it takes time. The grief that you are going through will take time to heal. The pain you are feeling will take time to ease. Your broken heart will take time to find wholeness. It takes time. The process of getting to the other side of your heartache is what God will use for His glory. The time that it is taking is designed just for you. God does everything to completion. Your process to get to your breakthrough and purpose is no exception.

We have condition ourselves to believe that if something has not happened within a reasonable amount of time, then it will not happen at all. God does not fail to honor His word. When God has already ordained His purpose over your life, you cannot change His mind. When God declares a word over your life, it cannot be taken back. It must happen—no matter how long it takes. He will never withhold any good thing from you. It is hard waiting in the process. We can become weary and saddened with every breath of time. That healing starts to feel out of your reach. That blessing starts to appear out of sight. Even though you cannot see it right now, God is still working on your behalf. In spite of our unbelief, He is still making a way.

God is not penalizing you because it is taking time. He is not punishing you. He is not delaying what you have been praying about without reason. When time changes, God does not. Everything that God does is strategically positioned. He is meticulous and careful about every little detail before it comes your way. It takes time. Write these words upon your heart when you feel tired. Hold His promises tightly when you feel impatient. God cares about you so much that He is intentionally and wisely using time to help heal you. Time is for you, not against you. Grieve, hurt, feel and cry when you need to. Time is hard. With each passing moment, we continue to feel every ounce of pain and sorrow; nonetheless, God is with you in your suffering. Simultaneously with time, you will see God’s Hands work in your favor. Time will reveal His plans to prosper you.

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:” -Ecclesiastes 3:1

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” -Isaiah 40:31

“For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.” -Habakkuk 2:3
