The busyness of our everyday lives can cause a foundation for distraction and interruption throughout our day. The tasks at hand become prolonged or skipped over as we try to find balance between everything that is happening around us. Eliminating distractions that may surround you will help you see your work to completion and fruition. Just as God never leaves anything incomplete, we can take on that same attitude towards our work. Everything connected to your life has been made in completion. We have that same power to use for the completion of our purposed assignment through Him and the earthly work that is to be done.
Distractions plague our mind, attention, focus and thinking. There are many angles of distractions that can torment us. Maybe you are struggling with distraction within your environment. The people and technology around you have your full attention. Examining the reason behind your unfocused attention in those moments will be a helpful tool for reconstructing those interferences. Once you identify those distractions, remove them from your line of vision. Just as you would exclude anyone or anything that is not beneficial to your destiny; whatever is disruptive to your space—eliminate it. Maybe you are intentionally distracted by life; meaning, you are living perpetually on autopilot to keep your heart from feeling life’s pain. This type of distraction may show itself as subtle in your life. Trying to keep yourself busy will eventually cause you to become exhausted. You cannot focus on the task because your heart is already preoccupied. Bring your burdens to Jesus. Maybe your distraction lies within your mind. Your thoughts have defeated you before you have even started your work. The struggle of this distraction can be difficult to navigate. Give your thoughts to God; He can give you His wisdom.
Whatever the distractions may be in your life, you can bring them before the Lord. Before you begin the tasks and assignments for your day, ask God for His guidance and discipline. Ask Him for a heart and mind that is clear from disruption. By identifying the distraction that troubles your heart, you can pray specifically about those things for particular instructions to help you. By beginning in prayer, God can assist in your areas of weaknesses. Additionally, putting your faith and works together can become a monumental breakthrough moment. Now that you have identified the distractions, you can make the improvements needed in your day-to-day work space and purpose. The busyness of our days can keep us from clearly hearing God. You will be surprised by your results in making the strides to eliminate distractions. You will simultaneously start to recognize the voice of God in your life. Clarity will find you in the midst of your work and in your purposed assignment. You will find freedom by eliminating the noise around you. You will feel clearer in your mind, body and spirit. Taking away the distractions will allow you to experience God’s discernment throughout your day. You can now work from a place of clarity instead of leaning on your own understanding.
