Day by Day

This life can be overwhelming, distracting and all-consuming at times. How many times have we found ourselves pouring out more than we can give? How many times have we felt exhausted from doing today, yesterday’s and tomorrow’s work? When the stresses of life become daunting, we can often spread ourselves too thin. We start to think about all of the things that we have not yet mastered and accomplished throughout our day; eventually, leading to spiraling thoughts that keep us trapped in a losing mindset. Instead, God wants you to go step by step—little by little. All He desires from you is a step in a direction; God will lead you.

You are much further than you think you are in life. Life happens; we are not a timetable. It is not a rush or run to the finish line. We were all created with different attributes in mind. Take it day by day. God is rooting for you every step of the way. You have so much talent to give; you will get there. You have so much wisdom and knowledge to share with others; you will get there. You have so much love to give to someone; you will get there. One day at a time. One moment at a time. You are doing the best you can do in this very moment; that is all that God is requiring from you. There is beauty in strategically and carefully carving out each step that you take. We cannot operate from empty. We cannot operate in tiredness. Take your time. Process your trauma in your life. Take the time you need off from your career. Continue to grieve in the way that you need to grieve. Give yourself a break. Ease some of the pressure that you are putting yourself under. You are right where you need to be in this time. Your broken pieces are being molded back together by God—day by day.

You have everything that you need in this moment. Eliminate the agenda that keeps telling you that you are running out of time. Do not rush the process. If you had a deep cut, it would take time to heal. Day by day, it goes through various stages before the cut eventually heals. You cannot hurry the healing. You cannot speed up your growth. You cannot be so quick to see the end results. God is doing a great work in you. Day by day, you will uncover more about yourself in Christ. The best results come with time. Be patient with yourself. You are everything you need to be to yourself and those around you. Life is hard. Take one thing at time. One hurt, one pain at time. One blessing, one healing at a time. Be gentle with yourself, just the way God is with you. Your path has already been set forth by God. He has already created your future. You are going to make it: day by day, little by little, one step at a time.
