The Middle

Your heart is never settled. You are finding yourself in position with emotional baggage that keeps bringing you down. You are constantly tormented by your hurt and pain. It is ok to feel the way you do in this moment. Your feelings and emotions are valid. Given everything that is happening around us day by day, it is truly difficult to process our feelings. The beautiful thing about God is that He will meet you in the middle of where you are and what you are going through. The middle is where God will come and give you rest. He sees your restless nights. He feels your never-ending pain. He knows your heart is tired of being broken. He knows how much you keep trying. The middle is where you can bring all of your hurt and sorrow to Him. Right where you are, He is there lifting you up in His arms. God is meeting you directly in the middle of your struggles.

In the middle of your anxiety and depression, He is there. In the middle of your confusion and apprehension, God is there. When we encounter our wounded soul, God is there in the middle making provision for you. When we can acknowledge that we desperately need Him, God can begin to mend the brokenness of our hearts. The middle becomes fertile ground for the birthing of the process of healing through Him. The load that you are carrying is weighing you down. You are exhausted from holding that grief. You are becoming angry with the results of life. God understands. You do not have to do it alone. You do not have to be in misery everyday. God will meet you where you are. He sees you in that deep heart-wrenching pain. That pain that physically hurts you. It is ok. The middle is where He is ready to meet you—exactly how you are.

Show up with God in the middle. He cares about your suffering and disappointments. Show up with God by giving Him your hurt. Show up with God by letting go of your failures. Show up with God by releasing your tears to Him. God is bigger than whatever keeps pulling at your heart. God knew you would have this moment to give to Him. He knew that meeting you in the middle of what you are going through was going to be a groundbreaking experience for you. He knew that this moment of release would start something so beautiful inside of you. By meeting God through your tribulations, His presence becomes the intimate place for your heart’s restoration.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” -Psalm 34:18

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” -1 Peter 5:7
