Shattered Expectations

We all have envisioned different scenarios that we hope will play out sometime in our lives. Whether you have envisioned becoming a wife or husband by a certain age, having a numerous amounts of accolades to your name, or finishing school in a timely manner. We all have foreseen ourselves in what we imagine would be the expectations for our lives. When our expectations of our life goals do not align with what God has in mind, we are ultimately met with disappointment. When the visions for our lives does not match up to what God has we instantly feel rejected. With God, we have to learn to give up our own timetable of events. Otherwise, we will be in a constant state of defeat and disappointment. You cannot rush, add or subtract from God’s plans.

Letting go of what you think should happen, will show you that God is in control of your life. Do you know that He knows what your desires are? He completely cares and loves that you want great things for your life, ultimately; learning to relinquish all of your plans to God will bring you into connection with His plans. He is going to blow your mind and give you double of what you thought that you wanted. Give Him full access to come into your world. Give Him complete entrance in your life. Living off of your own expectations and what you want to see will only further you from what God wants to do in you.

It is a good thing to have great expectations for your life; however, when our expectations are not met in the manner that we want them to be met, we become disappointed and discouraged. Eventually, we will begin to no longer trust and believe because it did not end how we wanted. Instead, we cannot put limitations on God. He absolutely knows what is best for you. Everything that happens to you is God’s best for you. He will never intentionally delay or not give you something that is in His plan for you. His plans are for good, even in the heartbreaking moments—He is looking out for you. Do not put an expiration date on God just because things may look hard. Do not put a period at the end because you may be tired. It is hard. Give your expectations over to Him. He has a track record of doing no wrong. He has a reputation of performing miracles. He has the credentials of making ways for you that no one else could. You do not have to live with your own shattered expectations. Throw away those broken pieces and let God give you His best.
