The Functionality of Fear

This life can cause us to have a lot of fears. Day in and out, we experience all of the things that make us uncomfortable or scared. Fear can show up as strongholds in our lives. Does fear have dominion over you? If the foundation of your life is fear, then you must understand that we are rooted in faith and not by sight. Does fear rule over you when you receive bad news? Does fear have its way when you are stepping into unfamiliar territory? Does fear have a place in you when you are led by earthly decisions? If so, then you have chosen to live in the easiness of fear. As humans, we operate in what we can see. The foundation of this operation is fear. The Spirit cannot synchronize with fear. The Spirit cannot coincide with fear.

You are scared because without certain things attached to your life, you feel stripped. These things have become a safe haven for you, but make it harder for God to work in your life. What are you putting your trust in? When you have decided what is best for you without bringing it to God, you have decided in fear. Are you solely deciding on a matter that God gave to you? The flesh wants you to have access to your own life. The flesh wants you to depend totally on yourself and your own desires. When we know that God has called us for more, but yet we are settled in our own ways we are moving in fear. Are you stagnant in what you know you should be doing? Fear cannot be in sync with faith.

God has called us to live a life for Him. That means fully letting go of yourself and grabbing hold unto Him. There are so many things He wants you to know, but fear is getting in the way. You do not have to live a fear-based life. Fear cannot be your foundation. Fear has no influence in your life. Fear has no authority over your life. Fear has no control anymore. We are sending fear far away. We are casting fear away, in Jesus’ name. You were not meant to function from a place of fear, rather from a foundation of faith.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” -Psalm 23:4

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” -Psalm 27:1

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” -2 Timothy 1:7
