Uprooting Your Comfort

Have you ever been in season where it feels like God is moving on your behalf, but you feel the timing is off? If you have been here or are in this moment, just know that there are no limits when it comes to God. He is going to move and do according to His will. It seems like God does His best work when we are uncomfortable. When we can truly step out of our comfort zone and let God work, that is when we will begin to see how He can do great things in our lives. If you are living in your own comfort and are only doing the things that feel right to you, turn it over to Him. God wants you to break out of your own limitations.

There are no boundaries when it comes to what God can do in your life. There are no regulations on what you can do through Him. He needs you to be uncomfortable in order for Him to move through you. Yes, it may hurt. Yes, it may cause you to release everything you have. When you relinquish yourself of your desires, wants and needs—that is when you can see what is going to be revealed through you. Uproot your comfort. He wants to get into those deep places and use it for His glory. It may not feel like the right timing for that job. It may not feel like the right time for that relationship. It may not feel like the right time for that dream. We do not move off of our feelings, we move as God moves us. When God wants to move in your life, it is always the right time. It does not matter what is lined up on your check list right now. It does not matter what conclusions you have come up with for your life. You have to uproot your comfort.

Get out of your own way. Your comfort level has to be abolished and abandoned to feel the fullness of Him. He works during our most unexpected and uncomfortable seasons of our lives. Trust the process. Uproot your comfort. You cannot have expectations of how something is going to work out, if you did not create the situation. God is the only one that has a say in what is happening in your life—not you. Let go of this control that it has to be this one way. With God, things happen in the way they should happen. It may not look the way you intended it would look like. Reject the spirit of fear in the unknown. Uproot your comfort to line up with His word.

“Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.” -Jeremiah 1:8

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” -2 Timothy 1:7
