Guard Your Heart

In this world, there are going to be distractions, ill intentions towards you and doubt thrown your way. In this, we must learn to guard our hearts. Guarding your heart means protecting your spirit from those things and people that are sent to disrupt your faith. There will be people that will bring doubt to your world. There will people that will intentionally do harm toward you. There will be circumstances that are meant to cause negativity around you. The enemy will come to destroy. When we meet these obstacles, we must operate by guarding our hearts.

Guarding our hearts can be difficult with all of life’s ups and downs. Guarding your heart also means sheltering the good things that God has for you. We must also learn to guard the goodness of life. Guard the promises that God has given you. Guard the visions and the plans His has in store for you. Guard the atmosphere of faith in your heart. Those things are special and important to God and should be handled with special care.

When we guard our hearts, we become a steward over the things that will come from the Lord. We must be selective of what we allow in our hearts. You can align yourself with God by keeping things dear and true to your heart. This world will try to introduce you to things that are not of God. People will try to use words against you to show you negative aspects of life. Be on guard. Be watchful. Be prayerful. Take heart and not fear. We are in this world, but we are not of this world. While this is our temporary home, let us learn to guard our hearts in everything that we do.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” -Proverbs 4:23

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” -1 Peter 5:8
